BCI-3 and BCI-6 all

The below refilling procedures are for all the BCI-3 AND BCI-6 cartridges used with Canon 3000/6000/8200/S400/S600/S700/S800/S900 Series Printers.

Refilling Procedures

1. Remove the cartridge to be refilled from the carriage. Seal the ink outlet hole before refilling. Place the orange cover that came with the cartridge when it was new back on the ink outlet hole on the bottom of the cartridge. If you don't have this cover, we recommend using black electrical tape. Once the outlet hole is sealed, drill a small hole in the sponge side of the cartridge. Leave this hole open to provide an air vent.

2. With the hand drill provided , drill a small hole into the reservoir side of the cartridge between the plug and the reflector. (see illustration)

3. Now you are ready to refill. Refill the cartridge over sink for easy cleanup of any spills.

4. Using syringe, draw out approximately 12ml/cc of the desired ink. Insert the needle into the hole on the reservoir side of the cartridge. DO NOT fill the cartridge all the way up, leave a little space. After refilling the cartridge, seal the hole with black vinyl electrical tape and rub down tightly with fingernail. Make an air tight seal. We recommend sealing the hole with a hot glue gun. Put a bead of hot glue over the hole and tamp it down for a good seal.
Make sure the tape/glue seals the hole so that it is airtight or the cartridge will leak into the carriage. We "WILL NOT" accept responsibility if this happens.

5. After refilling and sealing, let the cartridge sit for at least an hour so that the ink spreads through the sponge. Remove the cover/tape from the outlet hole and place the cartridge in the printer carriage.

6. Rinse out the needle and syringe with warm water between refills and store for the next use.
